Enola Holmes (2020)

I was really looking forward to this. I miss Cumberbatch's Sherlock Holmes.
Enola Holmes is the younger sister of Mycroft and Sherlock Holmes if one couldn't tell already. She had lived with her mother all her life, learning what it is to be a proper woman, that is, chemistry lessons, fisticuffs, and learning how to find her own way in life. Until her sixteenth birthday, at least, when her mother disappears without a trace. As Mycroft comes to collect his ward and make her a "proper" woman, she runs away, on a mission to find her mother. That was the plan at least, until a boy fell out of a bag.
The message of "be who you want to be" was pushed heavily in this movie. Not that I complain. Although it wasn't subtle, it was Enola's driving force to her decisions throughout the movie. the relationship between Enola and Lord what's his name felt genuine and I would love to see a sequel of the two.

Dear viewer, where will your adventure take you?
Ne Zha (2019)

I was recommended to watch this. It's somehow made big news...
Ne Zha was born with a demon spirit within him. He was destined to destroy the town in three years. However, his parents does everything in their power to show him love and raise him in a nice environment. Dragons, who are the enemy to humans, had stolen the good spirit, intending to destroy the humans with their spawn. But when the demon and good spirit meet, they become friends. And on doomsday, what will the fate of the town be?
This is based on a Chiese folktale, so of course, there's a strong moral lesson; therefore, I won't critique the story. However, the jokes. I can name them all: fat joke, fart joke, gay joke, piss joke. That's all. Is this what Chinese people like? The character design of Ne Zha too, why? Sure he's a demon-spawn and the contrast of his full power and muted power is nice, but he's so ugly... I think that the reason why I didn't like the movie too much. Also, there are kids talking like adults which disturbed me greatly.

Mob Psycho 100 II (2019)

I finally finished oh my god.
Mob is starting a cult. I mean, he's not, but a girl at school is. And more good news, Mob has made some friends. Regan is now internet famous. Anyways, there is a new threat in town. With the help of his friends, he manages to subdue the bad guy.
I really don't want to say more. It's SO GOOD I promise. So here's a few words for you to sell you one watching season 2 for yourself: Magical girl Mob. A broccoli nuke? Snot. There. Go watch it, please.
And if you haven't seen season 1, WHAT ARE YOU DOING

Come, join the cult where Google takes over our minds.
The God of High School (2020)

After Tower of God, I was pretty excited for this show. Turns out, it is just a dick measuring contest.
It's a tournament ark of high school students battling or a wish. There are some backstories of why they fight, but that's really it...?
Hell, the fight scenes where mystical properties were introduced is super hype, but the hand to hand fights seemed riged, much like they rotroscoped the fights (watch the original Disney's Cinderella for reference). As much as the human body is amazing, animation is a medium that is made to exaggerate beyond the skeleton of a human and make it appealing for viewers to watch.
That's my take.

I wonder when they're going on their Journey to the West (rolllllll credits)
One Piece: Skypiea (2002-2004)

I really liked this one.
A traveler 400 years ago discovered a city made of gold. He befriended the residents, promicng to return one day. The bell will ring as a symbol of heir lasting friendship.
All this made the skypiea saga so well written. And to add on Luffy's character of caring for the people who had shown him kindness, it works so well. I love how his character as a rubber man makes him a natural foe for the big bad electricity dude. (spoilers, but its been out for ages).
What i didn't like as much was the mantra? spidey sense thing. There was no explanation of how people have it and why sea people don't. And why did Eneru have to stay alive?! Bro. just die already.

M A N H U A
Here U Are (2017-2020)

Hehe
Ok. If you like sappy simple romance stories, this one's pretty good. But like all simple romance stories, that's it. That's the plot.
A university student has had his heart broken one too many times, after being broken up with useless boys who only wanted to experiment with their sexuality. Due to this past, he doesn't trust any new boy in his life. Especially not the quiet underclassman who doesn't seem to know the first thing on dating.
Everyone's gay. (except for one wholesome couple)
